The good news is, I fixed this for myself, and you probably can, too. It seems to assume all servers are down or you just won't be able to connect to it. So for some reason the tool keeps trying to do this step instead of skipping over it and going to the address. Because the DNS returns an actual IP address (to the stupid search engine), instead of an error message, the tool keeps trying to resolve the IP address thinking it is the actual IP address to "". This totally ♥♥♥♥s up the Larian Tool's process. Which, of course, redirects you to a custom DNS error that gives you a bunch of search results and ads (♥♥♥♥ you ATT). So the DNS has to return an error message. It can't obtain the IP address of "" because the server is down or whatever. However, AT&T's DNS has to be♥♥♥♥♥backwards, of course. Google's DNS returns a generic DNS error that can be interpretated by anything, which, I guess, basically tells the support tool "hey! the internal server is down! Use the other one!" So the tool then tries to reach another hostname, "", which Google is able to resolve and thus the tool is connected and lets you play the game. Neither DNS can fetch the IP address of the hostname "", however the fact that they return different things is the problem. Google's DNS can't resolve the request as it says the hostname "" does not exist. AT&T's DNS returns the IP address "198.105.244.130", while on my phone, Google's DNS (8.8.8.8) is used instead. So the issue seems to lie with whatever IP AT&T is providing you when Larian Support Tool and the game try and resolve the hostname "". You will need to sign in to your myATT account to do this.Įdit: RainingFreedom provided the link for Cox users to do the same
